Point of View Assignment

I really enjoyed this assignment, looking at things from different angles and distance allowed a new world to open up to me. I choose to photograph the newest lego creation that I made for my 6 year old, when you look at it from any distance it is so insignificant and small, but as you go closer and to the height that a child who plays with it views it, a whole new world opens. It allowed me to remember why kids love legos as much as they do, I just wish they were less expensive! ----Jenn

Lego training building as seen by looking down.

Moving in closer, almost to the level my son views this.
Right in the thick of the action. "The evil skeleton is attacking, we must protect the sacred artifact!"
I love how the guys look life-sized when you take pics this close.
I really like this one, the spear coming out of the picture and the clearly visible details on the clothes.

  1. I also really liked the last picture you posted! I love that the spear looks like its so close that its touching the lens! And I think the best part is that it is a little fuzzy looking. This gives the picture character! Definitely my favorite one! Great job!

  2. Yeah I'm pretty sure he could beat me in a fight or at least he looks pretty intimidating. The Lego ninja looks boss.

  3. These pictures make me miss my students and our hours of lego play. I like how, as you pointed out, getting down to their level opens up whole new worlds. It's why I love teaching infants through preschoolers -- you're reminded everyday of the wonder in life through their imaginations.

  4. Beth, I want to work with the 3 to 5 crowd after getting my degree, but nothing beats snuggling a baby. I love to play with my boys and often my house will be less than tidy because I'd rather play with the boys. Of course a lot of the "play" in our house is also OT, PT, Speech, or behavior therapy, so it's a way to help them learn new things, or accomplish goals.
